Skills: To write clearly and legibly routing reports and correspondence; Technical mathematical computations (example: add, subtract, and divide in all unit of measure, using whole numbers and decimals, and statistical inference); basic computer experience with word processing, spreadsheet, email software, preferably in Microsoft Suite.
Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of plastic resins, mold set-up and functions of an injection molding press is required; processing on injection molding machines; statistical process controls is preferred; solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Abilities: interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form; to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals; effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees in the organization.
Physical: Walking and stair climbing is required within the office/shop areas. Visiting customer sites may be required. Sitting, standing, turning the head and torso, reaching, grasping, bending and flexing of the arms, legs, wrists and fingers are physical requirements. Must have correctable eyesight, good depth perception and color vision. The position must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs unaided. Work extensively gazing at computer screens while doing data entry. Work with a computer and its applicable software.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Develop robust process utilizing scientific molding techniques, such as: gate freeze analysis, short shot analysis, etc.
Utilize and develop DOE to meet process goals
Document finding of sample and report to Program Manager.
Maintain engineering file with the following information: DOE, process sheet, XXXX diagram.
Collaborate with quality group to verify product criteria.
Set priority of each days events.
Share ideas on how the team or process can be improved.
Utilize root cause analysis,”5 whys,” to resolve developmental issues.
Locates, safely transports, and stores the injection mold in accordance with established guidelines and procedure.
Installs and removes injection molds from assigned presses.
Set-up and prepares auxiliary/ secondary support equipment as required at the press.
Follows proper set-up/cycle sheets.
Monitors process control for samples presses.
Verify documents are correctly filled out prior to set-up sign-off.
Takes shots of parts and visually checks them for defects, logging information into paperwork.
Documents set-up work orders and assignments.
Operates forklifts and overhead cranes while conducting mold set-up.
Maintains and promotes a safe and clean working environment.
Keep are of responsibility clean and organized throughout shift not just at the end of the shift.
Other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

The selected candidate will be capable of managing the demands of multiple concurrent projects, including the ability to prioritize tasks to achieve successful on-time completion.

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Demonstrated leadership and a proven record of accomplishing goals through others
• Demonstrated capabilities to motivate engineers to sustain performance at a high level
• A proven track record of completing projects on-time, within budget, and to specification.
• A BSEE degree or other engineering degree with substantial experience in electronics design
• Experience in product definition, product design, qualification testing, and quality management is required
• Experience developing, implementing, and following engineering/ new product development processes
• Experience managing technical documentation to meet the needs of MRP, Manufacturing, Customers, and Product support
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and communication skills

Experience in mechanical design, manufacturing process development, business management, quality systems, molding, and SMT/micro-assembly is a plus.
